The Station Mall in the former Wendy's China Shop location next to Essentials Stationery

Audition Requirements

No advance preparation necessary.  Just show up ready to learn a song and a simple dance combination.  Dress comfortably and bring appropriate footwear.

Rehearsals

12 weeks of rehearsals begin on Wednesday February 3.  Typical  rehearsal schedule is:  Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Mondays from  7 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Thursdays evenings are added in early April.  Upon moving into the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre in the last week of April rehearsals are conducted every day except Friday.

Wednesday thru Saturday May 5, 7, 6, and 8 @ 8 p.m.

Sunday Matinee on May 9 @ 2 p.m.

• Dorothy Gale-- Actress Age Range:  13 to 25...able to play a teenage girl.  Vocal Range:  Mezzo Soprano (Low G to E)  This actor may be harnessed to fly for this production.
• Aunt Em/Glinda the Good Witch of the North*-- Actress Age Range:  25-50. Vocal Range:  Mezzo Soprano (Low G to C)  This actor may be harnessed to fly for this production.
• Uncle Henry/Emerald City Guard*-- Actor Age Range:  30-60.  Vocal Range:  High Baritone (Low B Flat to E Flat)
• Three Crows (Male Trio)--Actor Age Range:  Teen to Adult.  Vocal Ranges:  Baritone and Tenor (Low B to E and Low B to High B)
• Three Trees (Female Trio)  Actress Age Range:  Teen to Adult.  Vocal Ranges: Alto to Mezzo Soprano (Low B to C and Low B to E)
• Hunk/Scarecrow--Actor Age Range:  Teen to Adult.  Vocal Range:  Tenor (Low B Flat to High A Flat). 
• Hickory/Tinman--Actor Age Range:  Teen to Adult.  Vocal Range:  Tenor (Low B Flat to High G)
• Zeke/Cowardly Lion--Actor Age Range:  Teen to Adult.  Vocal Range:  Baritone (Low B Flat to E Flat)
• Munchkins with Vocal Solos--Mayor, Three Tough Guys, Three Tots, Fiddler, Coroner
• Munchkins with Rythmic Dialogue--A Braggart, Two School Teachers, Three City Fathers and a Barrister.
• Female Ensemble--Singers and Dancers to play Ozians, Jitterbugs, Munchkins, Poppies, Beauticians, Manicurists
• Male Ensemble--Singers and Dancers to play Ozians, Jitterbugs, Munchkins, Snowmen, Polishers and Winkies
• Professor Chester Marvel/The Wizard of Oz--Actor Age Range:  Adult Male Character Actor.  Non-singing role.  This actor may be harnessed to fly for this production. 
• Miss Almira Gulch/.The Wicked Witch of the West--Actress Age:  Adult Female Character Actress.  Non-singing role.  This actor may be harnessed to fly for this production.

*Although the Royal Shakespeare Company version of the script calls for doubling of these roles, it is not necessarily how this production will be cast.  Separate actors may be used for Aunt Em, Glinda, Uncle Henry and the Emerald City Guard.
